About

Full of love, loss, contemplation, daydreams, heartbreaks and ambitions– Courtney Jean is a songwriter, weaving life experiences into melody. Behind the songs of a girl raised among the New England country-trees and the four seasons, lies a bridge connecting the relationship between music and nature. Alongside singing and songwriting, Courtney is an earth steward, with her past as a farmer and her current, working in the permaculture sphere, it is crucial that her music shines a light on the human connection to the natural world.

2018 was the year Courtney was re-introduced to the farm. In the southernmost-corner of San Diego, she discovered Wild Willow Farm and began to pave an understanding that the way our food system is currently going will not successfully sustain life on earth as we know it. A fire was lit within her, the type of flame that lasts a lifetime. It was clear that her path was to use music as a tool to support this movement.

It always comes back to the similarities of weaving songs and sewing seeds. Courtney’s passion for songwriting and farming is symbiotic; the two influence each other. It is within the raw moments of a long day working with plants and picking up the guitar, tired with calloused hands, where her story begins to be told.

In 2022, Courtney released her debut album, "Cabin in the Woods''. Written and recorded during autumn in Woodstock, NY, the record is a reflection of the timeless moments spent in the wondrous upstate New York mountains, memories of childhood, stories of wit, charm, sadness, and everything that falls in between.
